Best Chocolate Truffles! December 18, 2008
These are just like Trader Joe's seasonal truffles they put out at the holidays; the box is similiar but of course lacks the Trader Joe's logo; the maker must be the same, however, as the taste is distinctive.
The truffles are sweet but not too sweet--silky smooth solid chocolate truffles with a light dusting of cocoa powder--i put them in mini muffin papers and they look very festive.
I often get headaches from chocolate but not from these; i bought 4 boxes to give as gifts. Note, there are two pouches in the 2.2 lb box so you could get 2 gifts from one box. They are very rich so a few go a long way.
Wouldn't be the holidays without these truffles.

These truffles are melt-in-your-mouth delicious but, when you add the shipping in and the fact that returns aren't accepted for any reason, they are NOT worth the price. I found truffles at our local warehouse club identical to these less than a week after I ordered from here. They were less than $9 for 3 pounds - and no outrageous shipping fees. Keep your money and find them in your area.

These are my favourite truffles! They just melt in your mouth. They're lightly dusted with cocoa on the outside. I recommend you store them in the fridge. I find them better cold.

This supposed truffle had virtually no chocolate flavor; the dusting of dark chocolate was not evident. The filling was unlike any truffle I have ever had--more like a pasty "fudge". In addition the first ingredient is palm oil, this is a saturated fat. The second is sugar, and the third is reduced fat(why bother?)cocoa powder whey,then finally cocoa powder. I only wish I had seen the ingredients before I purchased them. The price should have alerted me, a 2.2- pound box of decent truflles made with cocoa mass, etc. couldn't possilby be made for the mount sold on amazon. Caveat emptor!
